Palisade wine tasting without driving: plan your private day
A good wine-country day leaves room to enjoy the places you visit. Start with the experience you want, then build a realistic route around it.
Choose a few tasting experiences you’re excited about, confirm the venues’ availability, and arrange transportation for the whole outing, including the ride home. GJ EV Rides offers four- or six-hour private Palisade outings for up to four passengers. We can suggest popular stops and help plan the driving. Each winery hosts its own tasting; this is private transportation rather than a guided wine tour. Your reserved time runs from pickup to drop-off.

Start with the kind of wine day you want
A birthday, a quiet afternoon for two and a group of enthusiastic wine lovers can all lead to different itineraries. Before choosing venues, decide what matters most: learning about the wines from tasting-room staff, enjoying vineyard scenery, having a relaxed lunch, or trying a particular producer. You do not need a finished winery list to contact us.
Share those preferences with the driver. We can suggest popular stops and help arrange them in a practical order. A shorter list often makes the day feel more generous because you spend less time checking the clock between tastings.
Four hours or six hours?
The four-hour package is $400; the six-hour package is $600. Both reserve the vehicle for your group of one to four people at the same price. Both include the complete outing from pickup to drop-off, including the drive to Palisade, time at your agreed stops and the return. There is no separate $50 cleaning and electricity charge on these outings.
Four hours suits a focused afternoon. Six hours gives you more flexibility for a meal, longer tasting appointments or another stop. The longer package does not guarantee a particular number of wineries. Your starting address and the experiences you book determine what fits.
| Choose four hours if… | Choose six hours if… |
|---|---|
| You want a focused tasting outing. | You want a leisurely lunch as well as tastings. |
| You have a short list of nearby stops. | Your preferred venues need longer appointments. |
| You need to return for evening plans. | You want room for a seasonal orchard or town stop. |

Confirm the tasting before fixing the route
A driver reservation and a winery reservation are separate arrangements. Check each venue’s tasting format, opening hours, group policy and reservation requirements directly. A walk-in bar tasting, a seated experience and a food pairing may require very different amounts of time. Varaison’s own website, for example, describes different tasting and private-dining experiences and notes that events can affect hours.
Tell us the appointment times before the driving plan is confirmed. If one winery is your priority, build the afternoon around that reservation instead of booking several tight appointments and hoping the travel works afterward. The official Visit Palisade website is a useful starting point for current local businesses and events.
Give the stops some breathing room
Leave space between appointments for settling your bill, buying bottles, using the restroom and getting back to the vehicle. Those ordinary moments are part of the day. A schedule that only counts tasting time and driving time can feel rushed even when every appointment starts on time.
If lunch is important, treat it as a planned stop with its own time rather than something to squeeze in. Food availability differs among wineries. Check dietary requirements with the venue and decide whether you want a restaurant meal, a booked pairing or a simpler option before departure.
Plan for everyone in your group
Not everyone needs to taste wine to enjoy the outing. Tell us if some passengers prefer scenery, photography, shopping or a food stop. Ask the venues about nonalcoholic choices and their policies for younger visitors before including them. The vehicle can carry up to four passengers; confirm any child-seat arrangements before booking.
Wine purchases also take space. Let us know if you expect to bring home several cases or have luggage from a hotel checkout. Passenger count alone does not describe the load. A quick description of your bags and purchases helps us confirm a comfortable arrangement.

Know what the outing price covers
The package covers your private driver and vehicle for the agreed time and itinerary. Tastings, food, drinks and purchases are separate. Winery hosts provide the experience at their venues; your driver is not delivering wine education or guiding you through a tasting.
This works well when you want help with transportation but still want to choose the atmosphere and pace of your day. If you want a fully hosted wine lesson with a specialist accompanying the group, look for an experience that specifically includes that service. We can help with the driving portion when the itinerary and availability fit.
Arrange the ride home at the start
Confirm the final drop-off address, not just the first winery. If you want to finish at dinner instead of your hotel, include that in the original plan. A later ride home is a separate timing question, and availability should not be assumed.
Text us your date, pickup address, passenger count and preferred package. Add any booked tastings or simply tell us what kind of afternoon sounds appealing. We will review the stops, timing and availability with you so you can enjoy the day without having to work out the next ride at each winery.
